It’s been just one week since Mississippi was hit hard by severe weather on Easter Sunday, and once again, you need to stay weather aware with more of the same in today’s forecast.
While the risk for severe weather in North Mississippi is low, residents in Central and South Mississippi need to be on high alert today and prepare for the possibility of tornados, heavy rain, hail and more.
Make sure you have a severe weather plan in place ahead of time. Experts recommend that you continue to monitor your local forecast, know where in your home you will go if a tornado is approaching and have the proper supplies ready just in case.
Local storm shelters will also open across the state. If you do plan to go to a shelter, grab a mask or anything that can cover your nose and mouth to protect yourself in the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak.
