Isolated severe storms will be possible across portions of central and eastern Mississippi starting Thursday morning and into the early afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, damaging wind gusts and quarter-size hail will be the primary hazards with these storms, but a tornado cannot be ruled out.
Apart from expected thunderstorms, strong winds with sustained speeds of 20 to 25 mph and gusts of 30 to 40 mph will be possible late tonight into Thursday morning across northeast Louisiana, southeast Arkansas, and much of western and northern Mississippi. This may result in downed trees or limbs, making travel difficult for high-profile vehicles.
