Several Mississippi school districts announce closures ahead of Francine

Several school districts on the Mississippi Gulf Coast have announced closures ahead of Tropical Storm Francine, which is expected to make landfall in Louisiana on Wednesday as a Category 2 hurricane.

The following public school districts and private schools have made announcements on class schedules:

  • Hancock County School District will close all schools on Wednesday and Thursday
  • Our Lady Academy will be closed on Wednesday
  • Christian Collegiate Academy will be closed on Wednesday
  • The Bay St. Louis-Waveland School District will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday
  • Biloxi School District will close all schools on Wednesday
  • Harrison County School District will close all schools on Wednesday
  • Pass Christian School District will close all schools on Wednesday
  • Coast Episcopal School in Long Beach will be closed on Wednesday
  • Nativity BVM Catholic School in Biloxi will be closed on Wednesday
  • Pascagoula-Gautier School District will be closed on Wednesday
  • St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Ocean Springs will be closed on Wednesday
  • Jackson County School District will be closed on Wednesday
  • Moss Point School District will be closed on Wednesday
  • All schools within the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi will be closed Wednesday
  • George County School District will be closed on Wednesday. There will be a delayed start on Thursday, with bus routes set to begin two hours later than normal.
  • Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College will be closed on Wednesday
  • Full Life Christian Academy in Hurley will be closed on Wednesday
  • Stone County School District will be closed on Wednesday
