Sentencing for Epps, McCrory postponed, again

JACKSON, Miss.- Once again, a federal judge has postponed the sentencing for former Mississippi Corrections Commissioner Christopher Epps, along with a Brandon businessman Cecil McCrory.

These men have plead guilty to charges in a bribery scheme that happened more than a year ago. Prosecutors would like to recommend prison time based on how much money was derived by companies who contracted with state prisons.

U.S. District Judge Henry T. Wingate said they need more time to look at the documents that were submitted to determine they need to question the accuracy of the company figures.

The delay could last for up to a month. Prosecutors say after July 2510 or more indictments will be unsealed.
