Just a few weeks after Mississippi’s VA hospitals received poor grades on their annual reports, U.S. Senator Roger Wicker has reached out to the Veterans Affairs Secretary, David Shulkin, asking for his help to improve the treatment that Mississippi’s 200,000 veterans receive.
The Veterans Administration’s Hospital Star Rating is used every year to grade VA hospitals across the country, and this year Mississippi’s facilities ranked toward the bottom of the list. The facilities in Jackson received two of five starts and the Gulf Coast facility received one star. In a video posted to youtube, Senator Wicker said that Mississippi Veterans deserve better.
