A second suspect is in custody for the fatal shooting that took the life of a Jackson State student over the weekend.
According to a social media post from the university, Jamison Kelly, Jr. was arrested Friday for his role in the death of 21-year-old Jaylen Burns. Kelly is charged with accessory after the fact and is being transported to the Raymond Detention Center.

Earlier Friday morning, bond was denied for 19-year-old Joshua Brown, the other suspect, who is accused of shooting and killing Burns. Brown, who was a football player at JCJC, is being held at the Raymond Detention Center.
Burns was killed at the University Pointe Apartments in what was the second on-campus shooting over the weekend at Jackson State. The Chicago native was allegedly attempting to break up a fight when he was killed.
