19 year old Devin Nottis of Pascagoula is in the lock-up. Police say he may have been one of the thieves involved. Nottis was participating in a scavenger hunt as a pledge for the Delta Mu Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity at Southern Miss.

Nottis is behind bars, and USM has suspended Delta Mu.

“The University is taking swift and appropriate action in response to this incident,” said Southern Miss Vice President for Student Affairs Dr. Joe Paul. “This is a terrible and heinous act that has occurred, and inconsistent with the values of our institution.”
