Second Arrest Made in Huddle House Beating

WEST POINT, Miss. — Another man has been arrested in connection to a beating at a Huddle House in West Point last weekend that sent two men to the hospital. One of them, Ralph Weems, was critically injured. Twenty-year-old Marquavious McMillian of Aberdeen was charged Thursday. Courtez McMillian had already been arrested. Both men are held on $250,000 bond.

David Knighten, who was with Weems, said he had been warned outside of a Waffle House, where the conflict had initially started, that people inside were upset about Michael Brown’s killing in Ferguson, Missouri and that it may not be safe for white people. Currently, the case is not being viewed as a hate crime and will be up to a grand jury.

Investigators say more arrest may be expected. If you have any information that can help out investigators call Crime Stoppers at 800) 530-7151.
