The SEC Basketball Tournament in Nashville and the conference’s upcoming baseball slate has been canceled as the coronavirus outbreak continues to cause public concern.
The announcement was made by the conference in a tweet hours after initially stating that the tournament would continue without fans in attendance.

Ole Miss was eliminated from the tournament on Wednesday night, while Mississippi State was scheduled to play on Friday.
Currently, the NCAA Tournament is scheduled to go on without fans, but this is a rapidly developing situation that has caused the cancellation of sporting events around the globe and the suspension of the NBA season.
For SEC baseball fans in Mississippi, this means that Ole Miss’ series with LSU in Oxford this weekend and Mississippi State’s series with Arkansas in Starkville will not go on. The games were originally set to continue without fans, but the situation has changed once again.
Beyond this weekend, games have been canceled through March 30th.
