The West Tallahatchie School District and Tunica County School District were both awarded rebate checks for energy efficiency by Pubic Service Commissioner Brandon Presley.
The rebate check totaled $6,000 combined for the two districts and was presented to the superintendents.
West Tallahatchie School District replaced two convection ovens at their West Friendship Road Facility and two convection ovens at their High School Road Facility. That rebate resulted in $2,000 from CenterPoint Energy Efficiency Program.
The Tunica County School District replaced two combi ovens at Tunica Elementary School and two combi ovens at Rosa Fort High School. They also got rid of two fryers that were not efficient. That rebate totaled $4,000 from Atmos Energy.
“These are real savings for tax payers that these schools can use to better serve their students. I strongly urge each utility to make these programs known, whether they be on the commercial or residential level. Each customer deserves to save every penny they can,” Commissioner Presley said.
