BILOXI, Miss. — A Biloxi teen will spend most of his young adult life in prison for shooting and killing his 13-year-old step-sister in 2012.
Jonathan Morales, 19, was sentenced Monday to the maximum 20 year sentence for manslaughter, but three years were suspended. He must also pay a fine and funeral expenses.
The day of the shooting, Morales called 911 and told the operator Sadie Warden had been killed in a drive-by shooting. But investigators said Morales shot the girl inside the family’s home and dragged her body outside. Morales later confessed, but said he was only trying to scare Warden.
