HATTIESBURG, Miss.–If you’re a veteran and you’ve gotten shoddy care at a veterans facility, you can share your story this week with Cong. Steven Palazzo (R), who represents Mississippi’s 4th District in D.C. The first event is Monday in Hattiesburg.
Palazzo told News Mississippi you should show up about 4 p.m. at the VFW Post 3036. The forum will last about two hours.
“Making sure our veterans receive the health care they deserve and we promised them for sacrificing and serving for our country, we’re encouraging veterans to come out and share their stories,” said Palazzo.
“They can hear what we’re doing to pursue the VA scandal in Washington D.C., but we will also connect them with resources, to let them know what our office is able to provide.”
The second event will be Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at the VFW in Biloxi.
“When your Congressman has to intercede with the VA, it’s usually because of delays and most veterans don’t have time to wait.”
Palazzo said his office may be able to help make sure you get the services you are due in a timely manner.
“Our work continues to address the substantial, institutional problems within the Department of Veterans Affairs,” said Palazzo. “I also want to ensure South Mississippi veterans are receiving the best service possible. That’s why I’m inviting all area veterans to join me for a Veterans Forum & Resource Fair in the coming weeks.”
