HERNADO, Miss. – A DeSoto County Supervisor has died in an ATV accident.
The sheriff’s department confirmed that Harvey Wayne Lee was dead when they arrived at the scene just south of Hernando before 9 p.m. Tuesday. “We are all saddened and shocked at the loss of the life of our friend and supervisor. Our prayers are extended to his wife June and his entire family,” said Sheriff Bill Rasco in a written statement.
The President of Desoto County Board of Supervisors, Lee Caldwell, has ordered flags at all county facilities flown at half-staff until after Lee’s funeral service. “Harvey was a respected leader in our county and his friendship and leadership will be missed by all,” Caldwell said.
Tuesday was Lee’s 54th birthday. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
