WAVELAND, Miss.- A GoFunMe.com campaign must have gotten around to the ABC media icon. The Where Angels Play Foundation has been raising money to fund a new playground that will go up in the Elmwood Bourgeois Park on Central Avenue.
Where Angels Play was started by a retired New Jersey Firefighter who developed ties with a local elementary school after the students wrote letters of condolences to him after 9-11.
The playground is scheduled to be built right before the tenth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina.
Roberts, who is originally from the coast, donated $25,000 to the project through her company, Rockin’ Roberts Productions.
