JACKSON, Miss. – This Mississippian only has two photos of his father. The world has seen them, and the Mississippi Supreme Court says they are his to keep. Claud Johnson, son of Blues Legend Robert Johnson, is legally the owner of those photos and the profits behind them.
The court said family members knew about the photos and royalty payments as early as 1990. The state ruled that a legal challenge should have been filed no later than 1994. A lawsuit by other family members was filed in 2000.
