JACKSON, Miss.–If you bought tickets to the Willie Nelson show that was supposed to happen Nov. 24, then you’ve got a ticket for the show that is set to happen Feb. 21. The good news is, f you wanted to go but did not have a ticket, you have a new chance to get one because the show has been moved and there’s now plenty of room.
Nelson had to postpone the show in November after a tour bus wreck involving three band members in Texas. Authorities said it was likely weather-related and Willie was not on board the bus at the time.
Problems came up when trying to get a new date. The venue, Thalia Mara Hall in downtown Jackson is set to close in January for renovations.
That place had completely sold out.
So, the promoters worked out a deal to have it at the Mississippi Coliseum instead, a place that holds many more people, so you may be able to get a ticket, even if you couldn’t before.
So, if you want to hear “Crazy”, “Night Life”, “Whiskey River”, “and Blue Eyes Cryin’ in the Rain”, all performed by the “Red-Headed Stranger” (more white than red now at age 80), be at the Miss. Coliseum, 7 p.m. Feb. 21, 2014.
Tickets are on sale (again) now at the Coliseum Box Office, all Ticketmaster locations, charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000, or online at ticketmaster.com.
