CLARKE COUNTY, Miss.–A hunting trip proved quite dangerous for one of Mississippi’s state lawmakers and a friend. Their boat capsized in a flooded creek in Clarke County and the two men had to hold on to a tree for nearly an hour before being rescued.
WTOK in Meridian reported state Rep. Charles Busby, of Pascagoula, and his buddy were on a day-long hunting trip when their boat turned over in the creek, which was flooded from water backed into it by the flooded Chickasawhay River.
Chief Deputy Barry White told the TV station the men were taken to the hospital in Quitman for evaluation.
