WASHINGTON D.C.– Representative Steven Palazzo worked on a bill that would increase the vetting process for refugees. That bill passed the House with flying colors, despite President Obama’s threats to veto.
With a vote 289-137, the POTUS threat falls dead, as the 2/3 majority rule takes place here.
In this vetting process, there’s an FBI background check, plus 3 high ranking officials have to sign off on a refugee before he or she can be admitted into the country.
31 state governors, including Governor Phil Bryant, expressed that refugees would not be accepted into their states.
