Brrr, it’s cold in Tupelo.
While Tupelo was not part of the historic snowfall that blanketed portions of the state on Tuesday, that didn’t stop frigid temperatures from finding their way to northeast Mississippi on Wednesday.
According to the National Weather Service, the temperature at Tupelo Regional Airport was clocked at 8 degrees during the early morning hours. The single-digit mark made for the first time the area has ever seen the thermometer drop below 10 degrees, breaking a 41-year-old record.
