Ole Miss catcher Calvin Harris has been named SEC Co-Player of the Week following a historic Saturday performance in the Rebels’ 20-14 win over Missouri.
During Ole Miss’ final game in Columbia, Mo., Harris broke a school record, hitting four home runs, simultaneously making him the first SEC player to accomplish the feat against a conference opponent.
“It was just a remarkable day — I know a day that Calvin will always remember — and I think all of us that were there to see it will remember,” Ole Miss head coach Mike Bianco said on Monday’s edition of SportsTalk Mississippi. “I’ve been around the game for a long time. I’ve coached it for a long time. I’ve played it. I don’t ever remember a player hitting four home runs in one game on either side. It’s just a remarkable feat.”

The catcher also tied an Ole Miss record for RBIs in a game with a career-high 10 runs driven in. He also scored a career-high four times.
Harris’ feat was the bright spot in an overall down weekend at Missouri as the Rebels lost two of the three series games. Next up for Ole Miss (25-23, 6-18 SEC) is the final home weekend series of the season versus Auburn beginning Thursday at 7 p.m. CT.
