The largest Mega Millions jackpot in the game’s history is now at an estimated $1.58 billion in anticipation for Tuesday night’s drawing.
At this time, the jackpot is ranking as the third-largest prize in U.S. lottery history, trailing the $2.040 billion Powerball jackpot that was hit on November 7, 2022. The second-largest jackpot totaling $1.586 billion was hit during the Powerball drawing on January 13, 2016.
So far, the current run has had 31 consecutive drawings without a winner, with the last Mega Millions jackpot being hit on April 18 in New York.
The jackpot will grow until at least one ticket matches all five numbers and the Mega Ball number.
“It is very easy to get caught up in the excitement of such an incredible jackpot,” Mississippi Lottery Corporation President Jeff Hewitt said. “It’s important to remember to play responsibly.”
As for other lottery games, Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing is now at $170 million with an estimated cash value of $83.4 million. The jackpot for Tuesday’s Mississippi Match 5 drawing is currently at $55,000.
