OXFORD, Miss.–The Rebel Yell has gone silent. Stan Sandroni, a broadcaster with the Ole Miss network and a long-time radio voice in Mississippi died of a heart attack Wednesday. He was 64.
Sandroni was long-time host of the Rebel Yell hotline (21 years) and other programs that showcased the Ole Miss Rebels. News Mississippi’s parent company, TeleSouth Communications, employed Sandroni as an account executive at Q93.7/WQLJ in Oxford. He was there for 23 years.
Sandroni had been a sports broadcaster for over 40 years, in Greenville television news and sports, and as the voice of Delta State sports.
TeleSouth is saddened at his passing and sends prayers and thoughts to his family and his radio family across the state.
