JACKSON, Miss.–If you woke up to rain this morning, you weren’t by yourself. A large part of Mississippi was getting showers, especially over the western part of the state. That was expected to push east as the day goes on.
No severe storms were expected with these storms, said National Weather Service Meteorologist Dan Byrd.
“Actually as these storms continue to push east across the state, that’s probably gonna limit any convection,” he said.
He said you can expect to see afternoon type showers and storms through the weekend.
“We could see possibly a strong storm or two, Saturday afternoon, but it doesn’t look like we’re gonna see anything severe.”
Byrd said you could see those afternoon type storms stick around until a cold front moves through Tuesday.
