JACKSON, MISS– Finally, a little rain in Mississippi. The National Weather Service in Jackson says you may not see a lot this weekend, but it will still help.
“It will help with the drought and some the fire concerns,” says Daniel Lamb, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Jackson, “it’ll really move into the area Sunday night going into Monday.”
Weekend chances sit at around 50% statewide, increasing throughout Sunday.
Flooding in local creeks and ponds is possible, as anywhere between three and five inches of rain is expected to fall Sunday night into Monday afternoon.
