MERIDIAN, Miss.–Meridian’s second murder victim this year was found dead in the bed Thursday about 10 in the morning. He had been shot in the head.
He was 34-year-old Nathan Cole and he was found by his cousin.
Meridian, though sometimes considered a violent place because of a recent spike in gang activity, has had only one other killing this year.
The city’s new administration, including new Mayor Percy Bland and a new police chief, have said fighting crime in east Mississippi’s biggest city is a top priority.
