JACKSON, Miss. — If police buy your gun through one of those buy pack programs, they won’t be able to destroy them under a bill that is gaining acceptance in the legislature.
It says any guns bought through those programs must be offered for sale at auctions to federally registered gun dealers; and can only be destroyed if they are deemed to be junk. The measure is supported by the National Rifle Association; and passed the House Tuesday. It now goes to the Senate.
