HATTIESBURG, MISS– A retired University of Southern Mississippi professor and his wife have written a $100,000 check to teach students to serve others through community service.
The Center for Community and Civic Engagement encourages students to connect not only to the university, but the world by setting them up with community service opportunities.
Dr. Richard Conville, a retired communications professor, would push his students to service by making it part of his coursework. Conville taught for 35 years before his retirement.
