West Point, MISS– The Saturday before Labor Day means football for most but it West Point it means it’s time for one of the biggest arts festivals in the country.
The Prairie Arts Festival kicks off at 9am in West Point this weekend. There’s a chance for rain, but West Point Mayor Robbie Robinson says that you shouldn’t let that stop you.
“I’ve been to every Prairie Arts Festival now. At some it rained and cooled things off but it didn’t dampen the atmosphere,” Mayor Robinson says.
The festival doesn’t actually start until Saturday morning. But Mayor Robinson says that as vendors set up, people can’t resist sneaking a peek at what is coming together.
“People will take their evening walks through the parks as the vendors set up,” Mayor Robinson says, “I like to go around dusk.”
Aside from the arts and crafts, there will also be food vendors and three stages for music.
