Only Wednesday night’s scrimmage remains for Mississippi State before the Bulldogs will transition into preparation for the season opener against Stephen F. Austin. The intensity remains high as Joe Moorhead’s group continues its march to September 1st. Defensively, the Bulldogs continue to look the part of one of the nation’s top units.

On the offensive side of the ball, I spoke with running backs coach Charles Huff, who has one of the more interesting position battles going on between senior Aeris Williams and sophomore Kylin Hill. Huff says he feels good about his unit from top to bottom and how it is grasping Moorhead’s offense.
Mississippi State will scrimmage in Davis Wade Stadium in a final tune-up, then take off on Thursday before practicing again Friday and Saturday. Saturday will also be Fan Day here in Starkville, as the coaching staff and players will be available for autographs.
