Over 22,000 people on the Mississippi Gulf Coast lost power as a result of Hurricane Nate over the weekend. Thanks to Mississippi Power crews, all customers now have their power back on ahead of schedule according to company president and CEO Anthony Wilson.

“I am pleased we were able to restore service today ahead of schedule to those customers who could receive power,” Wilson said. “Our team and the additional resources dispatched to assist us worked very hard and safely to get the lights back on for our customers. I am also deeply appreciative of the assistance from all public safety and government partners who provided their support before, during and after Hurricane Nate.”

Mississippi power crews were aided by over 1,000 crewmembers from Southern Company subsidiaries, including Georgia Power and Power Secure, in addition to contracted personnel.
