JACKSON, Miss.–Mississippi’s capital city is often a violent city, but the latest killing wasn’t over drugs or gang turf, it was the war at home, say police. David Horton, 46, is charged with shooting and killing his 19-year-old step-daughter Kristen Williams early Saturday. He’s also charged with shooting her mom, his wife, in the stomach.
Police said Davietta Horton was able to call 911 after she was shot in the abdomen.
The whole incident was at the family’s home on Fredrica Dr. about 3:30 Saturday morning. When the cops got there, they found the step-daughter dead, shot several times.
The mom was taken to UMMC for surgery. She was still hanging on.
News Mississippi is told David Horton was arrested at the house while police were gathering evidence and doing initial questioning. He’s charged with murder and aggravated assault.
