Police are searching for a suspect after an alleged domestic assault occurred at the Mississippi University for Women.
According to campus officials, an unidentified female community member reported being the victim of a domestic assault Monday morning around 9:30 a.m. The incident occurred inside her vehicle in the area of Pohl Gym on 11th Street South.
The suspect, identified as a Black male, reportedly ran from the vehicle and onto the south campus. He was last seen wearing khaki pants and a white shirt. Witnesses reported seeing the suspect walking west, near 15th Street South.
The victim told authorities there were no weapons involved and was able to provide police with the suspect’s identification.
