YAZOO CITY, Miss. – Police are trying to find the person that attacked a woman delivering newspapers to a Yazoo City gas station earlyTuesday morning.
“We have some people we want to question,” said Chief Jeff Curtis. But he refused to release any names or descriptions. “If I put that information out right now, if they are involved, it may force them to flee.”
Curtis said the victim was at an Exxon gas station around 3:35 a.m. to drop off newspapers. Before she could get out of her car the suspect walked over to her. “He demanded she turn over what money she had in her hand and her vehicle,” explained Curtis. “When she refused to do that, he tried to force her out of the vehicle.” The woman was eventually able to fight off her attacker, start her car and drive off.”
The suspect, who got nothing for his trouble, was last seen in a getaway vehicle driven by a second person.
Curtis, who didn’t release the victim’s name either, said she was treated and released from the hospital. “She will be a little sore from the incident, but she is doing great”
