A south Mississippi man was arrested last weekend and now stands accused of felony abuse of a 1-year-old child.
Hattiesburg law enforcement officials say that officers responded to a call on the 6000 block of Highway 49 after 11 p.m. on January 18.
Upon arriving at the scene, police found the unidentified infant to be suffering from multiple head wounds. 27-year-old Martadius Willis was arrested the next day and was subsequently charged with felony abuse and/or battery of a child.
Willis was also charged with two counts of felony neglect of a child, two counts of contributing to the neglect or delinquency of a child, one count of controlled substance sale/manufacturing, and one count of simple assault domestic violence.
His bond was set at $33,500 for all charges.
