Police in Ridgeland are investigating after a dead body was found at the Little Dixie Landfill.
Authorities report being notified about the deceased individual on Monday around 1:30 p.m. According to Police Chief Brian Myers, an employee at the landfill made the initial discovery, then promptly contacted law enforcement.
After assessing the scene, officials described the deceased as a balding Black male with a “gray stubble beard.” He was wearing a dark-colored t-shirt bearing “United States Postal Service” with a yellow logo on the front. At this time, law enforcement authorities have not announced if foul play is suspected. No arrests have been made in connection with this case.
