Two arrests have been made following a Monday shooting outside a Columbus hospital.
On Friday morning, Columbus Police Chief Joseph Daughtry and District Attorney Scott Colom announced that Gavin Fields and Dustin Pope had been arrested and charged after an interpersonal shooting left four people injured.
Fields, 23, and Pope, 20, both of Artesia, are each facing six counts of aggravated assault and one count of shooting into an occupied vehicle.
On Monday shortly before 4 p.m., an altercation took place adjacent to the parking lot of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in the area of North Leigh Road. The altercation then turned violent when Fields and Pope – who are brothers – allegedly shot into the other group’s vehicle.
The hospital was subsequently forced to go on lockdown for about an hour. According to Daughtry, two of the four shooting victims have been released.
