CORINTH, Miss. — The lawsuit against former Alcorn Central Middle School principal Dan Burcham, claiming he took inappropriate pictures and videos of two teachers has been dismissed.
Janet Holley and Stephanie Eaton claimed in their federal suit that Burcham used his cell phone to record the images without their permission; and his action caused them to suffer severe psychological illness needing medical treatment. Court records show their suit was dismissed after a settlement conference March 27.
Burcham was fired as principal in March 2013 after an investigation and a closed door hearing by the county school board. Several months later the Mississippi Department of Education revoked his license.
The women were seeking actual and punitive damages. The terms of the settlement were not disclosed.
