Personal Care Worker Accused of Using Patient’s Checks/Credit Cards

JACKSON, Miss. – A certified nursing assistant at a Lucedale personal care home has been arrested on charges of stealing from a patient at the facility.

Patricia Harris, 31, is accused of using credit cards and checks to take  over $35,000 for her own personal benefit.  She was arrested at her Moss Point home Tuesday by agents with the Attorney General’s Medicaid Fraud Control Unit.

Harris was booked into the George County Detention Center on three counts of forgery and one count of exploitation of a vulnerable person.  If convicted, she faces up 55 years behind bars; 15 on each forgery count and 10 on the exploitation charge.
