HANCOCK COUNTY, Miss. — Baby for sale, $5,000. The mom of that 4-month-old is now in jail and the child is in protective custody.
Here’s how police say it happened. Bobby Jo Stojic first posted on Craigslist that she was looking for baby clothes. A woman for Louisiana responded and the two keep chatting from there. Police say at some point Stojic told the woman that she was going to be evicted and asked her about adopting her baby, and later offered to sell her the infant for $5,000. The Louisiana woman called the Mississippi Department of Human Services and they called Hancock County deputies. Stojic has bonded out of jail and her case will go before a grand jury.
