A Pearl woman is the latest Mississippian to plead guilty to fraud related to COVID-19 relief funds.
Robbie Reese, 46, fraudulently claimed and received over $1.3 million in federal tax rebates and Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funds. According to court records, Reese submitted false IRS tax forms claiming reimbursements for payments to nonexistent employees and false documents for PPP loans.

Reese is scheduled to be sentenced on November 7 and faces a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. A federal district court judge will determine her sentence.
U.S. Attorney Todd W. Gee of the Southern District of Mississippi, Supervisory Special Agent Louis Norvell of the IRS Criminal Investigation Division, and Resident Agent in Charge Kyle Smith of the Secret Service made the announcement with the latter two investigating the case.
