Pearl River Resort announced a pair of leadership changes on Thursday.
The Choctaw Resort Development Enterprise (CRDE), a business enterprise of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians, announced Timothy Hill as interim president and CEO of Pearl River Resort.
Hill, a member of the resort’s executive team, has over 40 years of experience in the gaming industry. His career has included stops at not only Pearl River Resort, but other major casinos such as Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort in D’Iberville and Rivers Casino Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pa. He previously served as vice president of gaming and resort operations at Pearl River Resort.
Connie Deon has been announced as acting chief financial officer. Deon is a veteran gaming and hospitality executive with over 28 years of experience in finance. Previous positions for Deon have included executive director and financial controller at Pearl River Resort and financial controller at Isle of Capri Casino in Lula.
These appointments follow the decision of the CRDE Board of Directors to transition to new leadership, resulting in the departure of Sonny Johnson as CEO and Patrick Fox as CFO.
“The CRDE Board of Directors has taken action and made a decision to move forward with these changes in leadership,” Mississippi Band of Choctaws Tribal Chief Cyrus Ben said. “We will continue with prioritizing to make improvements and progress for our resort properties. Both Tim and Connie have many years of experience in their respective fields. I have complete faith they will do a great job in these interim positions.”
The release from Pearl River Resort did not note when the CEO and CFO positions will be filled permanently. Pearl River Resort includes Silver Star Hotel & Casino, Golden Moon Hotel & Casino, Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, and Geyser Falls Water Theme Park.
