A new economic development project is coming to Harrison County, with PCC GulfChem Corporation announcing a $540 million corporate investment on Tuesday morning.
The project will be in DeLisle and promises to create at least 84 jobs within the chemical manufacturing company. In addition to the direct jobs, hundreds of contractors and construction jobs will also be created during the project’s initial phases, per a press release from the Mississippi Development Authority.
PCC GulfChem is a subsidiary of the holding company PCC SE, headquartered in Germany. The PCC Group is a global manufacturer of chemical feedstocks and specialty chemicals, silicon and silicon derivatives, as well as a container logistics operator. The company is co-locating operations with The Chemours Company to produce chlorine and several downstream products at the DeLisle plant.
“This is yet another economic development megadeal for Mississippi and further proof that companies from around the world want to invest here,” Gov. Tate Reeves said. “PCC GulfChem’s decision to invest more than half a billion dollars in Harrison County is a testament to the fact that our pro-business policies and favorable business environment attract some of the world’s top industry leaders. I thank the PCC GulfChem team for choosing Mississippi and wish the company many years of success on the Gulf Coast.”
The Mississippi Development Authority is aiding the project through the Mississippi Flexible Tax Incentive program. Harrison County is also assisting with the project. PCC GulfChem Corporation expects the new plant to be operational by the end of 2028.
