NESHOBA COUNTY, Miss.–Missing child support payments can land you in a lot of trouble and that’s what Kevin Craft of Forest learned Wednesday when he answered in court for not paying more than $19,000.
Judge Vernon Cotton sentenced Craft, 32, to five years in prison, but suspended that sentence so that he can work to pay off the money.
Craft may have to go to jail if he doesn’t pay up. He pled guilty to child desertion.
“This sentencing helps insure that the defendant will meet his child support obligations or go to jail,” said Attorney General Hood.
