ETHEL, Miss.–It was a bullet that killed 67-year-old Tony Blankenship of Ethel, in Attala County, and now the sheriff’s department there believes a woman from Attala County and a man from Greenwood are both responsible.
Breezynews.com reported Blankenship was found dead Monday about 4 p.m. in his home on Hwy. 12 east, near Ethel, a small community in eastern Attala County. His body was sent to the crime lab and the MBI was called in to help process the crime scene, said Sheriff Tim Nail.
Kayla Lee, 27, from Attala County and Demetrius Brinkley, 25, from Greenwood, were questioned and then charged with capital murder in the death. Lee was picked up Monday and Brinkley was picked up Tuesday morning.
Lee did not discuss what led them to the pair or what the motive was.
Blankenship was believed to have been killed Saturday night. Deputies were called to the house on a welfare check after someone was after not hearing from Blankenship.
