If you’ve ever been out on the town in Oxford, you may have noticed that the last call is earlier than some college towns in other states.
That won’t be the case on Super Bowl Sunday 2022.
The Oxford Board of Aldermen recently approved a resolution to extend the sale of alcohol at bars and restaurants on the square on February 13. The resolution was passed unanimously.
Typically, alcohol can only be purchased on Sundays from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. For the day of Super Bowl LVI, patrons can now purchase alcohol until 11 p.m.
The city made similar resolutions in 2019 and 2020.
