WEST POINT, Miss.–It was an overdose of cough medicine that had codeine in it that killed two-year-old Brinston Smith in April. Now a trial date has been set for the child’s mom, who is accused of giving him that heavy dose of medicine on purpose.
Brittania Smith, 24, is charged with capital murder. It was determined that the child died from that overdose after an autopsy.
The trial is set for January.
