Mississippi state troopers arrested a California man for carrying over 100 pounds of marijuana last week during a traffic stop on Interstate 22 in Itawamba County
Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director John Dowdy said that 57-year-old George Herbert Stonebreaker, of Paradise, California was arrested after an officer pulled him over and after searching the pickup truck they found 101 pounds of high-grade marijuana. Dowdy said that they also found 458 packets of marijuana wax, or THC wax in the vehicle as well.
The THC wax is often melted down and then used in cookies, brownies, and candies.
Dowdy added that the street value of the drugs found in the vehicle was in excess of $100,000.
Stonebreaker told the trooper that he was on his way to Atlanta, Georgia from California. He has since been charged with trafficking marijuana and is currently in jail in Itawamba County. His bail has been set at $50,000.
