JACKSON, Miss. — Seemingly due to the extremely cold conditions in Mississippi, the Opposing Common Core Rally set for Tuesday has moved indoors.
The Farmer’s Market on High St. will host the rally against Common Core, and is sponsored by the Mississippi Tea Party.
It is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. and will close with a press conference in the second floor Capital rotunda at 10:30 a.m.
Common Core is a set of education standards, not a curriculum, that has already been adopted by the state of Mississippi, and many other states around the nation.
It is aimed at improving education and problem-solving for children and has caught backlash from some conservatives around the nation, and particularly the Tea Party.
