While the Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday is underway in Mississippi, it has not gone without incident.
Capitol Police officers responded to The Original Jackson Gun Show at the Trade Mart on Saturday around 11 a.m. According to officials, one person was injured during what is believed to have been an accidental shooting or misfire.
The victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Their name has not yet been made public.
The Second Amendment Sales Tax Holiday is a temporary period held annually in Mississippi where sales taxes are not collected or paid on purchases of specific products such as firearms or ammunition. This year, it lasts from Aug. 30 through Sept. 1.
