BILOXI, Miss– Oscar Davis passed away last week. Davis was a veteran, and at one time homeless. He was loved by his community. This is one final chance for the people to give back to Oscar.

Oscar Davis made friends and family in Biloxi and Gulfport. Though his final year was spent in the housing program with the VA, Davis’ supporters from his time on the streets didn’t forget him. They continued to provide food, clothing, and winter supplies to him. Davis is survived by a son, Brian, serving in the Navy in California.
Because Davis had no health insurance and no savings, his final expenses are growing. James Bates with Operation Homeless Hope launched a BeeABacker campaign, asking for monetary support for Davis’s funeral. But there’s just one other thing they need.
“If people are interested in coming to the burial service, to pay respects and to show Brian the community loved his father, that would mean a lot,” says Bates.

Here’s Oscar’s story:
Oscar’s burial service will be at 12:30 p.m. this Friday at the Committal Shelter at Biloxi National Cemetery at the Biloxi VA. You can continue to help other Mississippi Gulf Coast homeless men and women through the Operation Homeless Hope page https://www.facebook.com/
